The Pitch

In order to create a better world, we believe that the first problem we need to fix is the health care.
Our organization's mission is to create no pain or illness for people. Everyone can receive treatments immediately after any sickness happened. In order to create a better world, I think the first thing we need to fix is everyone's medical care.

In this way, our organization is going to create a smart robot that can detect people's health problem by simply scanning people's bodies. After that, the robot will provides treatments and health advices in order to prevent and cure any disease. We want to create a smart robot just like Baymax in the movie Big Hero 6. We will input all the data and medical knowledge into the robot, making easy instructions. Also, we will upgrade the robot more and more intelligent, so the robot can act more like a real "human".

If every one can have their own doctor robot, everyone in this world will be able to received healthcare treatments at any moment wherever they need it.  Our organization will deliver the robot to every corner in this world, so people can all have medical care anytime anywhere.

A World We Imagine

Im my mind, a better world is full with love, at the same time, everyone is in a good health. In this way, there is no more pain and illness, everyone can receive treatments immediately after any sickness happened. In order to create a better world, I think the first thing we need to fix is everyone's medical care. Only a healthy body can lead us to all the goals we trying to achieve. As we all know, there are many places in the world where do not have healthcare and cannot receive health equipments on time. The world is too big, it is hard to reach every corner around the world to provide treatments to everyone who needs it. Although there are many charities around the world trying to provide healthcare, it is still hard to reach whoever needs to the treatment at the emergency moment.

There is one idea came up ti my mind after I watched the movie Bog Hero 6 - Baymax. If every one or people in one community or family can have their exclusive Baymax just like in the movie, everyone in this world will be able to received healthcare treatments at any moment wherever they need it. I would like to create a robot just like Baymax who is able to detect your health condition by quickly scanning your body as well as provide treatments or medical suggestions after according to your pathogeny. In this way, all we need to do is to invent this robot and deliver them to every corner of this world along with necessary equipment the robot would need. All we need to do after is to update this robot through software chip, so the robot will get better and better at cure people.

The Blue Sweater Part2

After reading the second half of The Blue Sweater, I was amazed by the venture-capital firm Acumen Fund Jacqueline Novogratz created. On the second half of the book, I felt Jacqueline is not only telling the stories of how her organization help the poverty, but also how to run an organization as a social entrepreneur. . Jacqueline brought new idea of charity. Sentimental and sympathy can no longer help poverty, and charity organization cannot be a puppet for people to show their care to poor. In order to prevent poverty, we need to listen to what they actually need. Because we cannot forever offer money and goods to them, thus we need to solve the situation essentially. The only way to prevent poverty is to develop their ability and make them financially stronger. In this book, Jacqueline help the women to run business and make money on themselves, without relying on anything.

The Blue Sweater (Part 1)

I really like how the book starts with a story that inspired me. When the author Jacqueline was young in Virginia, she had a blue sweater gift, and she loved it very much. Years later she cannot fit in that sweater anymore, she send the sweater to a charity organization. After eleven years, she saw a boy wear that blue sweater passed by her, and there was still her name printed on that sweater. Seen her childhood sweater again in some many years at a totally different country, she instantly feel there is interconnections between people, and what we do or what we not do will have influences one others. Thus, the author Jacqueline decides to find out what stands between wealth and poverty in Africa.

When Jacqueline was 26, she gave up the job at Chase Bank, instead, she became an ambassador for at African Development Bank. Jacqueline help the empower women to gain financial abilities. However, the experience was not very easy for her as she always get rejected and scorned by the local African women there. The African women thought Jacqueline does not has any experience and ability to help them. She later realized the problem that she should provide substantive help to low income women, like increase the income, because that is the key to gain the trust and solve the problem. Thus, she returned Kenya again and started to make progress. Jacqueline recommended the local women to start bakery on their own, and Jacqueline taught them how to suggestions as they run the shop. Soon, the local women were able to make about $2 per day. I felt Jacqueline really solved their low income problem at a very essential level. There is no one can offer anyone help forever, and the only way to save anyone is he or she needs to get stronger on their own.

This book taught me a very important lesson. Sympathy cannot help poor, they need to develop abilities in order to be stronger.

Corgi and French Bulldog

I am an animal lover, and one of my favorite animal is dog. Corgi and French Bulldog are two of my dream dog, and let me introduce them to you!

Corgi's full name is Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Corgi is originally from Pembrokeshire, England, and it is a cattle herding dog. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi has been ranked at #11 in Stanley Coren's The Intelligence  of Dogs, as well as is considered as a smart working dog. In addition, according to the American Kennel Club, Corgi was ranked #20th most popular breed of dog in 2015. Corgis have small size with very clever look I think. First, their ears are erected proportional with a triangle shape, round eyes, and they have long body with short legs. What I like the most about corgi is their short legs, especially when they walk they basically shake their butt because legs are too short make them walk fast. Also, Corgis are famed for being the preferred breed of Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Elizabeth owned Pembroke Welsh Corgi over 30 years during her reign.

Another my dream dog is French Bulldog, compare to Corgi, French bull has less hair and is a small breed of domestic dog. French Bulldog's ancestors was imported from England and local ratters in Paris. A french bulldog looks veery active, smooth, and muscular. They have colors in brindle, white, black, blue grey, and fawn. Their colors are various is because colors are linked with genetic health problems. The temperament of French bulldog requires close contact with human just like many other dogs, and they don't require too much exercises. However, french bulldog are called for "clowns of the dog world" because of their innocent look(I think) and vivacious temperament.

Here are two of my favorite dogs, I wish one day I can have both of them with me!

Growing A Farmer Blog 2

Unlike the first part of Growing A Farmer, on the second part of the book Kurt talks more progress on his farming experiences. On the second part, Kurt explains the details on raw milk, slaughter animals, and finally his farming success. Kurt's words on telling stories and describing those process are very clear and thoughtful, pictures come to my mind when I read it.

The chapter "Raw Milk" impressed me a lot. Kurt explains all the different procedures that are necessary to the process of getting raw milk. In addition, I didn't know the raw milk that hasn't gone through the pasteurization process contain so much bacteria, which can lead sickness on children. When Kurt realized the seriousness problem caused by "raw milk", he quickly get a legal license for raw milk business. And he explains the requirements for sterilizing raw milk, for example, cooling down the milk below 40 degrees with first two hours when came out from a cow. By reading Kurt's story, I learned a lot agriculture knowledge. Every career has it's own regulations, we want to strictly obey them and do well in our own filed. When Kurt talks about killing animals, I was quite resisted to read about killing. Kurt describes the killing process very detailed for us, which makes me felt so cruel toward these, however, I understand that is how the meat food get on our table. In this way, I kind of understand why vegetarian refuse to eat meat.

From reading this book, I can tell how much the author Kurt Timermeister gone through since he decided to become a farmer. This is not an easy decision to make, and it requires a lot of work and efforts to accomplish this goal. And I think Kurt did make it. In the first part of the book, Kurt constantly telling his failures, I always felt so pity for the bees died and food he wasted. Because my grandparents also grow vegetable and raise poultry when I was young, and they cherish every single ingredients or resources they have, try not to waste or killed any of them. So every time I read Kurt waste or killed any resources including plants, vegetable, fruits, fodder, or animals, I always felt so bad. However, I think that is a necessary for a person to learn how to farm successfully. Finally, when Kurt talks about how he bring the food he raise to the table of his restaurant, I think he accomplished his original intention of why he started farming.

The foundation of the Vogue magazine dates back to 1892, when Arthur Turnure, a socialite had a desire to create a weekly New York social magazine. The key editor at this time was a fellow socialite, Josephine Redding. It was until the 17th of December the same year that the first issue of the magazine. Since it was a weekly magazine designed for the working class in America, its covers also included well-polished women. Remember that the initial content of the Vogue was to attract the attention of both men and women. It should be in your mind that times and seasons change, so do the fashions and preferences. Between 1889 and 1899, the Vogue experienced numerous changes. Large format fashion plates increased and diversified sections expanded rapidly. A major editorial change was noticed when Rosa Payne introduced the idea of running a section on garment patterns. You notice that women are the center of fashion and style. Almost everything in the clothing industry revolves around them even today. At the beginning of the 20th century, Vogue magazine transformed to specifically, a women’s fashion magazine. Here, readers increased but sadly, the circulation numbers were lessening. Newsstands could return magazines that were not bought on credit. The decline in circulation meant that Vogue had less prepaid subscriptions. People who bought from newsstands wanted seasonal issues but refused to invent in prepaid subscriptions. Here is an example of early 20th century Vogue magazine cover, very vintage style:

The uniqueness of the Vogue’s editors and their contribution to success
At the time when readers’ interest in the magazine was declining, Conde Nast bought Vogue. His unique experience in the Collier Weekly paper doubled the revenue of Vogue. His long time stay in Home Pattern Company motivated his decision to extend the pattern enterprises of Vogue. He totally reformatted the design, came up with full color back and front color. He even initiated a department in which women could exchange and sell fashion items. In general, he changed the circulation of the magazine, where instead of being produced weekly; it became a semi-monthly magazine focusing on the new formula of the Vogue’s success. During a time when Anna Wintour was the editor-in-chief of the magazine, she was a pioneer in mixing inexpensive fashion items with more costly ones in photo shoots. This made her obtain a bigger audience. She is known for having combined regular clothing with haute couture and developed a fresh move in fashion. Her unique ability to revitalize the magazine and her brave need for new things has created the Vogue magazine that is popular today. On top of the above editors were Grace Mirabella and Diana Vreeland who played major roles in focusing on modern fashion and editorial issues that saw to it that stylistic changes addressed the trending lifestyles.

Why you should embrace the Vogue magazine
Being a magazine that focuses on style and fashion, this world’s most influential paper reaches millions of people locally, in the U.S and globally. It raises awareness of political, economic, social, and technological issues that you cannot afford to miss for example, in 2006, it had an article that featured prominent Muslim women and the way they integrate fashion in their lives. These beauty and social skills are important aspects to be known by women in improving their lives. Since 2011, Vogue magazine awards the Best Styling movie.
